Tinashe's song, "2 On" has become a huge hit for the 21-year-old, and while everyone seems to dig the song, not too many know what the term, "2 On" means exactly. Today I learned it's meaning, and am sharing it with you (because I'm swell like that).

This idea came to me after listening to The Rob, Kat Mykals, and Chandelle ask each other if they knew the meaning. Spoiler alert! None of them did. So after a quick "Googling" I found an interview with Tinashe from back in January of this year on the website, ThisIsRnB.com where she was asked to explain the meaning of the phrase. She responded by saying,

...2 On is basically like when you’re like too turnt up. It’s like being extra at just like whatever you’re doing. If you’re just extra happy or if you’re extra hype or a little too buzzed, it just represents that feeling of just being all the way turnt – at 110.

So there you have it. "2 On" basically means that you're just having too much darn fun. Which begs the question, if you're too "2 On", and someone tells you that you need to turn down a little, would you answer with, "turn down for what"? Mind. Blown.
