TODAY, March 15th, is the deadline to apply for Vanderburgh County CASA's next training session coming up on April 9th.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) currently has 180 volunteers who are serving 445 children in the Tri-State. These children are involved in the Juvenile Court System due to abuse and/or neglect. There are currently 400 children on the waiting list and in need of a CASA volunteer.

The first step of becoming a volunteer is completing the online application. Once an application is accepted, an interview is scheduled with the Program Director.

Prospective volunteers must be 21 years of age or older, a clean criminal history, have a high school diploma or GED, submit references and complete a 30-hour training.

The training session will be held at the CASA Office beginning April 9 and will meet Mondays and Thursdays for 4 weeks from 5:30pm-8:30pm.
