Before my vacation, I brought you my annual list of the dumbest songs of the year.  Now it is time for me to share with you what I felt were the top ten BEST songs of 2014!  The only criteria for a song to be on this list is that it HAS to be a song that KISS-FM played in regular rotation in 2014.

#10: KONGOS - COME WITH ME NOW: I didn't quite know what to make of this unconventional rock/pop song.  I feel the song sounds unlike any other songs in popular music, especially in 2014.  This was associated big-time with wrestling fans like myself in the Spring when the WWE chose it as the theme song for their post-WrestleMania spectacular Extreme Rules.  By the time it made its way to pop radio, I was already in love with it.

#9: DRAKE FEAT. MAJID JORDAN - HOLD ON, WE'RE GOING HOME: Another song I feel is quite difficult to compare to anything in 2014, this song hits all the right chords in what I like about Drake's music.  Not too fast, not too slow.  Not too rap, not too pop.  To me, this song is just right.  Though technically KISS has been playing this song since late 2013, this song was too new to be included in last year's list.

#8: JEREMIH FEAT. YG - DON'T TELL 'EM: Don't get it twisted, I think Jeremih is a huge douche.  It's songs like this that gave him that tremendous ego and reported I-own-the-world mentality.  Jeremih has a sound, and this song NAILS what he does.  "Birthday Sex", then "Down on Me," and now it's "Don't Tell 'Em".  They're all about mostly the same thing, sound mostly the same, and have always struck me as awesome songs.

#7: BEYONCE - XO: This song was probably the first song KISS added in 2014, so it's easy to forget about it.  Additionally, the song kind of "stiffed", which is a radio term for a song greatly underperforming compared to its expectations.  Not only that, I can't find anybody else besides me that really likes this song...  Not even people who generally enjoy Beyonce's music.  The first single of Beyonce's surprise self-titled album that dropped last December, this powerful ballad is music to my ears.  I think it's just as good as any of Beyonce's other ballads like "Halo" or "If I Were a Boy", both of which experienced much greater success.

#6: ONE DIRECTION - STEAL MY GIRL: I tend to like about 50% of One Direction's songs, but the ones I like I LOVE!  I don't know if it "officially" samples Journey's melody, but this song deeply reminds me of "Faithfully," but it's much more fun, poppy, and lighthearted.  The music video, directed by and starring Danny DeVito is a lot of fun, too.

Stay tuned because tomorrow I'll bring you the TOP FIVE!!!
