2013 is quickly coming to an end, which means it's time for a look back at what the past 300-plus days brought us in the world of music.

10. #beautiful by Mariah Carey feat. Miguel

This was one the more underrated songs of the year in my opinion, and I don't really know why. Everyone I talk to seemed to hate this record but I thought it was one of Mariah's best songs since the 90s.

9. Madness by Muse

I haven't really ever heard a song quite like this before. It sounds like what I imagine being stuck in a black hole might sound like. The lyrics don't say much and the music is random at best but the combination is music to my ears.

8. Monster by Eminem feat. Rihanna

Every time Eminem and Rhianna have gotten together the results have always been magic. Their latest, "Monster" from the Marshall Mathers LP II, is no different. I love the juxtaposition of Em's jagged lyrics with the smooth chorus that Rhianna provides.

7. Holy Grail by Jay Z feat. Justin Timberlake

I could not wait to get my hands on Jay Z's Magna Carta - Holy Grail album. I listen to it on a trip from Philadelphia to Evansville for the very first time. Track one was this duet with Justin Timberlake that I thought was incredible. When I first heard it, I couldn't wait to play it on the radio. Their styles contrast so incredibly that it sounds like two different songs put together.

6. Cruise from Florida-Georgia Line feat. Nelly

It makes absolutely no sense that I would like this song but I can't deny that I do. Yes, I'm still the same guy who loathes country music but this song encapsulates the feel of summer anytime you listen to it. One of my most played songs this summer.
