The Rob Celebrates His Birthday With the MOST ROB Gifts EVER!
Today is my birthday. It's not even 11:00 in the morning, and already several people have done some incredibly generous things for me to make it a very special birthday! As I was looking at the incredibly nice things I was gifted this morning, Maddie and I came to the realization that these are literally the most "Rob" gifts anybody could be given... Check this out!
The person I saw this morning after I got to work was Maddie. Maddie was thoughtful enough to pick me a funny card as well as a bag of gumdrops. She was trying to specifically find "DOTS" candy, which she always thought was an odd choice for somebody's favorite candy... But it is. I LOVE DOTS! It even inspired our facebook topic this monring!
Shortly after the show began, I got a phone call from my buddy Steve. He was waiting outside of our building, and he very generously came bearing gifts. He's another guy who definitely knows me too well. Steve was thoughtful enough to get me a Disney POP! figure ("Powerline" from "A Goofy Movie," which is in fact my #1 favorite Disney movie), a Super Mario Question Block Lamp (complete with sound effects), and a WWE T-Shirt (AJ Styles, for those who know their wrestling)! I can't thank you enough for your generosity, Steve!
Then, around 8:00 this morning, Maddie mysteriously disappeared. I didn't think anything of it and just assumed she just had to go to the bathroom since, you know, she's peeing for two these days. But when she returned to the studio she came back with her mom, Shelley! While Shelley is a gift in and of herself, she ALSO came bearing gifts! Shelley brought me FOUR corndogs from Sonic (which I have been mentioning on air has been my weakness here recently), a drink, AND a bag of fine cheeses. Not the cheap stuff either, these cheeses (a variety of exquisite flavors) came from the finest of wineries in Indianapolis! Shelley, you're awesome, thank you for thinking of me!
All of this was before 9:00 this morning! I also need to thank Liberty who works with us for a box of cupcakes from Piece of Cake, which let's face it, are the best cupcakes in the Tri-State! I am very thankful that these friends and coworkers thought of me today on my birthday!
