The beloved Twinkie is about to see it's end.  Well maybe...

Hostess started back in the 1930's, and from the day they debuted the Twinkie to America, it was love at first bite.  Even the movie 'Zombieland' makes reference to Twinkies, and how even during a zombie apocalypse you want to take a break and enjoy some cream filled deliciousness.

Well this week Hostess bakers decided to strike, because they didn't agree with a new contract that was imposed in bankruptcy court. Management said that they would liquidate the company if the bakers didn't get back to work.  Today, Hostess made good on that threat. Because of this 18,500 Hostess employees will lose their jobs.   Hostess CEO Gregory F. Rayburn said: “We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike.”

The fate of Ho ho's, Ding Dongs, Twinkies, Sno Balls, and Wonder Bread may not be as bleak as it seems.  We all may still get to enjoy our delicious snacks, because Hostess plans on selling off their brands.   Hopefully someone will buy the more popular brands, and we don't have to say goodbye to the snacks of our past.

Which is your favorite Hostess snack, that you don't want to say goodbye to?
