Last night, one of my favorite places in the entire world, the D'Alto Studio of Performing Arts, had a fantastic Star Wars event in preparation for the new film. The highlights of the event included Jedi training for kids, a Star Wars memorabilia museum, members from the 501st Star Wars cosplay community, and local artists selling Star Wars themed paintings and prints.

No Star Wars theatre party would be complete without a little bit of theatre and D'Alto delivered. They did a live stage-reading of Shakespeare Star Wars. The roles were played by some of the best actors in the tri-state area and everyone gave an amazing performance. If you've ever wondered how R2-D2 would sound like if written by Shakespeare, this is the play for you. Also, all age groups were represented which was nice to see.

With any Star Wars event, there were plenty of costumes on hand. I dressed as Han Solo but my costume paled in comparison to some of the amazing work other people were wearing. I had to take this picture with my arch-nemesis and often discussed "Who shot first?" partner, Greedo. I shot first this time.

Overall, I had a fantastic Sunday spent with great friends and Star Wars. You can check out upcoming D'Alto events on their Facebook page!
