Christmas came early last night for everyone's favorites Heroes in a Half-Shell, as the new trailer for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows was released online. And it looks...actually, kinda cool.

The 2014 TMNT reboot film wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but it wasn't the absolute cinematic debacle that it could have been. It was a stupid fun movie that didn't please all the hardcore Turtles fans but it didn't completely destroy the franchise as was feared. The new film, coming out next year, looks like it's going to be awesome. I've been a huge TMNT fan since I was a kid so to see Bebop and Rocksteady on the big screen (FINALLY) made me want to hop into my TMNT pj's and GO NINJA, GO NINJA GO! Also, the new trailer shows the debut of the Turtle Van which looks familiar enough for old-school fans, but modern enough that all the kids will want a toy of it. It appears that Shredder will have a more hands-on role in this film as well.

My favorite part of the trailer was the introduction of Stephen Amell as Casey Jones. I LOOOOOVE the character of Casey Jones and I happen to quite fond of Amell's work on the CW's Arrow series. Sure, he doesn't look exactly like his previous movie, TV show, or comic incarnation, but I'm OK with the shift in looks as long as he captures the character, which it appears he does. The only downside to the trailer is that Megan Fox is reprising her role as April O'Neil, which for me, was the worst part of the first film. Hopefully she's better in this one or it could ultimately hurt the enjoyment of the film for myself.

Overall, I'm super excited about the new film, which is a sentence I never thought I would type. Grab some pizza and cowabunga your way to the theater next summer when this movie is released!
