Did you know your Aloe plant it poisonous to your pets? Find out what else the ASPCA says is toxic to Fido and Fluffy!
Spring is here, and that means planting season – but did you know some of your plants could poison your pets? I have been working on starting seeds to put out in the garden, and I got to wondering if there is anything that I need to be concerned about my 2 kitties coming into contact with. I have always heard that certain houseplants – as well as outdoor plants – can be poisonous to our four-legged friends, but I can never remember which ones are safe and which ones I need to avoid to keep my kitties safe and healthy. Did you know that Aloe plants are poisonous to pets? What about Chamomile? It’s poisonous too!
Here are a few that I did not know!
- Baby’s Breath
- Elephant Ears
- English Ivy
- Tomato Plant
Those are only a few… Most forms of Ivy, Lilly, and Fern are also toxic. You can find a very large list of plants that are poisonous to your pets on the ASPCA website. Take a minute to look through the list and make sure that your pets aren’t at risk!
