Today, we at The Rob's Radio Show With Kat Mykals and 106.1 KISS-FM kick off the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon!  We spend two days talking about how wonderful and important St. Jude is.  It always takes me back to the time that St. Jude invited me and some of my fellow TownSquare Media DJs to their facilities in Memphis, TN!

In January, we were invited to go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for the St. Jude Country Cares conference. It's where a bunch of radio people get together and talk about all the new and exciting things going on at St. Jude and meet patients and their families.

St. Jude is working every day to find cures and save lives. For their older patients, treatment can be especially difficult, but St. Jude helps heal with art.

It was another beautiful summer night at the fifth oldest miniature golf course in the country, Midget Links on Morgan Avenue, as people came from all corners of the Tri-State to play a round of miniature golf and raise money for the kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

The final tally has been made, and this year's Give Hope. Run. for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was the best to date!

Despite the fact his journey ended far too soon after a brain tumor relapse, Newburgh's Sam Featherstone and his family continue to be an inspiration and a driving force in the St. Jude fundraising effort even a year after his death. Sam's parents, Tammy and Andy Featherstone stopped by during the Radiothon to talk about Sam's journey and the tremendously positive role St. Jude played in it. Read

Recently, our DJs were invited to Kenny Kent to get in the cash and grab booth and grab as much money as we could for St. Jude. They presented our check today. We grabbed $1001.00 and had a blast doing it!

His story truly inspired the world.  When Lane Goodwin's "Thumbs Up" craze spread like wildfire through the digital landscape, I think every single person who heard his story was inspired.  I know that I was.  And Chad Benefield decided that Lane was the perfect inspiration for this year's original St. Jude song.
