For argument sake, let's say you've made the commitment to become a Partner in Hope with St. Jude. If you haven't, there's still time to do so online. But once you make that commitment, where does your $20 per month go?
The numbers are simply astounding.
Take a look at what's going behind the microphones of our annual fundraising event.
During our 3rd annual radiothon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, we'll share stories from patients and their families about how the staff at St. Jude changed their lives and gave them hope when no one else would. As touching as those stories are to hear, I think sometimes it helps to associate a face with the cause. This is the story of Ella and her mom Jeanna.
You may know St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was founded with the specific goal of curing cancer in children, but there’s probably a whole lot more about it you don’t know.
Wings, beer, sports, fundraising!
Our annual St. Jude Radiothon is an event everyone at the station looks forward to each year because we know it's our chance to raise a ton of cash for an extremely worthwhile cause. The two day event takes place not only on KISS-FM, but our six Townsquare Media sister-stations in Evansville (103GBF, 99.5 WKDQ, 105.3 WJLT, and Newstalk 1280 WGBF-AM), and in Owensboro (92.5 WBKR and Newstalk 1490 WOMI). As happy as we are to put on the radiothon, it's an emotional rollercoaster for many of us who have children of our own and listen to the stories of hope where a child pulls through as well as the stories of heartbreak where a childs illness was too much for them to overcome.
The numbers are in and thanks to your unbelievable generosity over the course of our two day radiothon, we are able to present hefty amount of cash to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
What began as leg pains and flu-like symptoms turned into a frightening, life-changing event for Anthony Lawrence and his family. This is their story.
Yesterday afternoon during day one of our St. Jude Radiothon, Katie Witsoe of Evansville and her children Conner, Matthew, Anna, and Ian stopped by the studio to share their story of how St. Jude helped them through a dark time when their son/brother Sean was a patient there.
There's not a parent on the planet that wants to hear the phrase, "your child has cancer". Unfortunately for Greg and Cathe, they didn't hear it once, they heard it twice...in less than a year.
