It was a valiant effort, but when the end of November came, so did my attempt to look like a man.

An uncomfortable few seconds could save a man's life.

The one thing that always sticks out to me when my family and I attend the annual Hadi Shrine Circus (as we did once again over the Thanksgiving Holiday), is the flare the performers throw in after each "amazing feat" of their show. This got me thinking, "what if everyone did that at their job?"

Surprisingly, it turned out slightly less horrific than I imagined.

It's week two of my effort to grow a full beard during No Shave November with Deaconess Hospital. So how's it going? As pathetic as I expected.

According to the unwritten rules of adulthood, as a 35-year-old man, I shouldn't have been as excited to see an animated film as I was about seeing Wreck-It Ralph. But, did I over-hype the film in my mind to the point where it would never live up to the fantasy expectations I set for it?
