The 2011 - 2012 school year has been a good one for Mater Dei sports. In November the football team played their way to the state title game at Lucas Oil Stadium, coming up short in their quest for state title in a loss to powerhouse, Fort Wayne Bishop-Luers. Then the girls basketball team made the trek up Highway 41 in February to bring home a state title against the aforementioned Bishop-Luers.
It's been a good several months for my alma mater, Mater Dei. From a 2nd place finish in the state football game back in November to a title win in the girls basketball state championship last month, the current student body at Mater Dei has given we alumni a lot to be proud of. That pride extends outside the world of sports with the recent 1st place wins posted by the Mater Dei Super-Mileage team
