A Canadian author has come up with a unique way to vent your frustrations for those times when just need to scream a curse word.

Don't get me wrong, being an adult has it's perks. For example, I generally eat a bowl of ice cream after the kids go to bed a few nights a week. Some nights I'll shake it up and have a beer or mixed drink. I can go to an R-rated movie without buying a ticket for a PG film, then zipping into the R movie theater and hoping an employee didn't see me. If I decide to stay up until 1 a.m. playing video games on a Wednesday I can, because I'm an adult dammit!

But as a wise old man once told his nephew, "with great power comes great responsibility". Need to eat? Go buy food. Oh, you only have $23.00 in your account and pay day isn't for another four days, AND the needle on the gas tank is resting right up against "E". Sounds like you're walking to the store to buy Ramen Noodles.

What's that? A pipe burst in your house and your basement is now an unplanned indoor swimming pool? A plumber will be more than happy to come take care of it for you, but they don't work for free (or cheap).

These are just a few problems that need to be dealt with, not before burying your face in a pillow and just screaming "F**************************K!!" at the top your lungs. It doesn't make the problem go away, but it does make you feel better, at least for a second or two.

Studies show that coloring is great way to relieve stress and anxiety. However, coloring a unicorn being ridden by Santa Claus while flying through cotton candy clouds may not necessarily bring you the relief you're looking for. That's where author James Alexander comes in.

Combining the relaxing qualities of coloring with the frustration-relieving quality of cursing, James created Release Your Anger: Midnight Edition: 40 Swear Words to Color and Relax. An adult coloring book full of popular curse words set to intricate backgrounds for big kids like you and me to color however we wish.

After seeing the book shared on Facebook recently, I e-mailed James to get the lowdown on how he came up with the concept.

How did you come up with the idea for the "adult" coloring books?

James: "Adult coloring books really took off with Johanna Basford, back in 2013, and the marketing behind them was that you could release your stress by coloring. However, there wasn't any outlet for people to truly "color their anger away" when they were genuinely p****d off. Coloring another owl or another flower doesn't really cut it in those moments."

"I saw an opportunity to create something for those Monday mornings when you want to say a few choice words to certain individuals... and so, that's where books like Memos to Sh***y People and Release Your Anger came from!"

How long have you been making them?

James: "I started creating coloring books in December 2015. That's when people really warmed up to the idea that you could have coloring books and profanity at the same time! Since then, more and more people have been discovering my books, and I've been welcoming them to the James Alexander world."

What a wonderful world it is.

Both books, along with a few others James have created are available now on Amazon.
