The downtown Arts District has a new restaurant, and it is exceptional!!! Allow me to introduce you to Sauced - 1113 Parrett Street, Evansville. Sauced is an Italian American restaurant with a renovated historic home that was originally built in 1877. From the moment you walk in, everything is as it should be. From the black, white & red color palette to the beautiful chandeliers and stained glass windows, it is a visually stunning space that is warm, inviting and cozy.

At the recommendation of our server Max, we tried the Panzanilla as an appetizer. It is actually on the menu under Insalata and is made up of artisan bread, fresh mozzarella, tomato, cucumber, olives and feta. It was a delicious start to our meal, and was just the right size to be shared between two people.

For my salad, I had the Mista, a romaine blend with garden vegetables and Wisconsin bleu cheese. The vinaigrette was a perfect blend of sweet and tart!

For our main dishes, Sara ordered Casalena - rigatoni served in a fennel seed marinara with spicy Italian sausage that is made in house. I did try a bite and it was incredible! Here is what Sara had to say about our experience:

What an awesome vibe...the atmosphere of Sauced is a perfect fit in downtown Evansville! I have to recommend the Casalena with their very own Italian Sausage. Yum! And ohhh...the heaven that is the cheesecake...I've officially been "Sauced". - Sara

I had the Linguini with bacon, tomato and pesto. This outstanding dish was beautifully plated, and was a perfectly sized portion, leaving me just enough room for dessert.

Speaking of dessert, I had the pleasure of trying the flourless chocolate torte served with espresso cream while as Sara mentioned, she opted for the Italian cheesecake served with a raspberry drizzle and garnished with a strawberry. Both desserts were decadent and delicious. Sara and I were both quite pleased with our dining experience. I will definitely be going back to "Get Sauced" again soon.
