Fans of Nintendo squealed with excitement last year when Nintendo announced the Mini NES classic, a miniature version of the beloved 8-bit grey console that set the bar for home video game consoles in the 1980s.  Well, prepare to wait in long lines and open up your wallets once again because now you're playing with power...  SUPER POWER!

Despite not mentioning anything two weeks ago at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Nintendo's worst kept secret, The Super Nintendo Classic Edition has been announced!  With an incredible line-up of 21 games announced (featuring SEVEN of my top-20 favorite games EVER) and TWO controllers, the miniaturized version of my childhood is slated to hit store shelves September 29th!

The announced games include (games in bold indicate that I consider the game to be among the 20 greatest video games EVER MADE):

Contra III: The Alien Wars, Donkey Kong Country, EarthBound, Final Fantasy III, F-Zero, Kirby Super Star, Kirby’s Dream Course, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Mega Man X, Secret of Mana,Star Fox, Star Fox 2 (previously unreleased!), Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Castlevania IV, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Super Punch-Out!!, and Yoshi’s Island.

The system should cost $80.  More information available from Gizmodo.
