With summer here, it is inevitable that we will see some poor dog locked in a car on a hot day. Why are people still doing this?
I will never understand why people continue to leave their dog locked inside of a car on a hot day. This is not okay. Not even for 5 minutes while you run inside. On a pleasant summer day, the temperature inside of your car is like an oven, and can easily reach temperatures in the triple digits. This is incredibly dangerous to your dog. In fact, it can actually kill your dog. The next time you think about leaving Fido in the car, think about this veterinarian who tested a 30 minute stay in a car with the windows cracked.
