This summer, several local actors and directors have been working hard at creating original plays through a writing workshop, hosted by StageTWO Productions. This Friday, August 3rd, they'll be doing a staged reading of 7 different plays that were written during this time.

The audience will vote on which one they like the best and that play will actually be produced by StageTWO next summer! Here are the details about the event:

Come one, come all, to the second annual STAGEtwo Summer Playwriting Workshop's Staged Reading! Yes, folks, the free event where you get to experience selected scenes from new, locally written works, and then YOU get to vote on which play(s) will get a fully staged production by STAGEtwo! We've got a great crop of plays from seven, that's right SEVEN playwrights this year!
Come join us and participate! It's really very simple! At the end of the reading, the audience will be asked to rank the plays 1-7, with 1 being the play they'd most like to see produced. That's it! The winner(s) will be announced once all the votes are tallied and all the arrangements made, hopefully within a couple of weeks, and one winner will be produced in June of 2019 as our final production of the season!
The reading will be at USI's Traditions Lounge (The Cone), and is scheduled to run from 6pm to 9pm with a 15 minute intermission. Snacks and drinks will be provided, also free of charge! Come mingle with your favorite playwright's and actors, and see the work these playwrights have put in over the last month!
