It's hard to believe that something as easy as SITTING DOWN can be bad for your health! Research shows that sitting down to much during the course of the day promotes poor circulation and decreased metabolism. People who sit most of the day also  have a 54 percent greater risk of heart attack than those who spend a good chunk of the day standing.

Researchers at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Louisiana came to this conclusion after analyzing the lifestyles of more than 17,000 men and women over 13 years according to Men's Health Magazine.

The scientists found that even non-smokers who exercise regularly and would be considered in good shape double their risk for heart attack if their job requires them to sit most of the time.

Experts recommended trying to stand at least twice an hour, to help combat the negative effects of sitting. So it's probably about time to get out of your cubicle and get a refill over at the water cooler. How much of YOUR day is spent on your butt?
