Simpsons Creator Finally Reveals Springfield’s Home State

After keeping the inside joke a secret for over 20 years, "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening FINALLY reveals the home state of TV's longest running animated family.

I always thought it was just some ficticious state that would never be revealed.  A few times every season, the animated yellow family would joke about what state they live in, without ever actually revealing which state it is.  We know they live in the city of Springfield, however that is one of the most common city names in the United States.

Many hardcore fans of the show have their own theories, based on context clues over the show's 23-year run.  But Matt Groening has finally caved and revealed which Springfield the Simpson's hometown is based off of.

It turns out that, just like their creator Matt Groening, the Simpsons are native to Springfield, OREGON...  Now you know.
