Scientists Discover Bacteria that Poops Gold [VIDEO]

I am such a geek! I get excited by some of the strangest things, and the fact that scientist have discovered a bacteria that eats toxins and poops gold is just awesome!

Is that not the coolest thing ever?!? This bacteria - Cupriavidus metallidurans - eats a very poisonous gold-based toxin called gold chloride and then excretes 24 karat gold as waste. This is crazy! If you could afford your own mini-lab, you could essentially grow your own gold! If, that is, you could get past the fact that it is poop from a tiny microorganism!
