Remember when the low carb diet was a thing? This is the complete opposite of that.

Based on the choices we have during the annual West Side Nut Club Fall Festival on Franklin Street every October, the sight of a Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe shouldn't be too shocking. Created by San Diego-based restaurant, "Chicken Charlies", the heart-stopping concoction features traditional sloppy joe filling topped with shredded cheese, and nestled between two halves of a glazed donut.

While I'm all for eating food that may not be considered "healthy", this does nothing for me. Don't get me wrong, I love making sloppy joe's, and I love glazed donuts, but the thought of the two together doesn't sound even remotely appetizing. I can't imagine the tangy taste of the sloppy joe mixes all that well with the sugary flavor of the glazed donut. But maybe I'm wrong. Based on the response the sandwich has received on Twitter, I may be in the minority.

I appreciate the offer, but if I'm going to give myself a heart attack, I'd rather it be from something I created in my own kitchen.

(From top to bottom; beer battered, deep fried jalapeno slices, bacon, caramelized onions, and cheese on top of a hand-formed burger patty made from 1/2 ground beef, 1/2 ground pork.)
