Swat team

As if we didn't have ENOUGH ILLEGAL weaponry on the streets from the ATF's and Border Patrol's Fast and Furious fiasco, the LAPD goes and adds on to the tally. Thieves using bolt cutters were able to force their way into a supposedly secure building earlier Thursday morning and steal 21 MP-5 submachine guns and 12 large caliber handgun from the Los Angeles police department’s prestigious SWAT unit.

While the stolen weapons had been modified to shoot blanks, a five-minute tutorial video on the website of the LAPD’s conversion kit supplier explains how the guns can be restored to fully functional.

Even though it was well-known that the building housed SWAT team training activities, it had neither an alarm system nor surveillance cameras.

LAPD Deputy Chief Michael Downing told reporters that he believes the weapons will eventually be recovered. He didn’t rule out the possibility of an inside job.

My suggestion, if you're thinking about taking a trip to L.A. soon, DON'T!
