With the recent announcement that the Indiana Broadcasters Foundation is offering scholarships to students looking to enter the world of broadcasting, I thought it would be a good tie-in to answer the question I get asked more than any other, "why did you get into radio?"

It will be 17 years this summer since I first walked into the University of Southern Indiana campus radio station, AM820 to do my first newscast during morning drive. However, I knew well before that moment that radio broadcasting was what I wanted to do with my life, and this is why:
