As the anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon approach, I think we are all taken back. I don't know a single individual who doesn't remember exactly where they were and what they were doing at the time that they heard the news of the attacks.

I was home, and remember not knowing or being able to comprehend what exactly I was seeing on my television. I remember the fear that I felt. My daughter was only 2 years old at the time, and I remember thinking "What kind of world have I brought my daughter into?" I remember crying, thinking of all of the families who had lost people that they loved.

In the days, weeks, months, and even years since the 9/11 attacks, the shock of what happened that day has never faded and my heart still goes out to all of the individuals who lost friends and family. The people responsible for the attacks set out to change America forever, and they did. They reminded us that we are One Nation, and they brought us closer together than we have ever been as a people.

May we never forget...
