Pop! Con, Evansville’s Original Comic Con, is Happening this Weekend!

This weekend Pop! Con is rolling into the National Guard Armory in Evansville this Friday and Saturday! The first Pop! Con was two years ago and set the bar for comic cons in the tri-state. This year promises to be bigger and better!

This year, some of the special guests include Mike and Ming from the hit AMC show "Comic Book Men." These guys know their comics and are excited to be coming to Evansville to geek out with the locals. They will be signing autographs and taking photos, as well as participating in several panels during the con. They have been super cool in promoting the event and have been praised for how cool and down to earth they are. Also, they'll' be selling an exclusive hot sauce only available at Pop! Con!

If you watched the WWE in the mid-2000's, this beauty will be no stranger to you. After leaving WWE, Maria has become one of the hardest working women on the independent circuit of wrestling. I had a huge crush on Maria growing up, so if I attempt to have any interaction with her, I will probably not be able to form words.

This next guest is going to need no introduction once he strolls onto the show floor. Thomas Depetrillo has managed to created an almost life-size Hulkbuster suit, seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This suit is MASSIVE and completely homemade. If any of you need a new weekend project, I'm sure Thomas will be happy to give you some pointers!

The recipient of this years "Superhero of the Year" award will be given to Collin Clarke. Collin has down-syndrome but he doesn't let that stop him from competing in fitness competitions. His story is truly inspiring and he is more than deserving of this award.

The show will also have toys and comics for sale, a cosplay contest, and many different video game and board game competitions. It's going to be a great weekend for geeks and the tri-state! You can get tickets here.
