On September 13, if you are looking for a free, fun activity for you and your family, check out the ParksFest in the Evansville Garvin Park for an all-day music festival. The event is designed to engage the community and to bring awareness to city parks.

Centering round the Garvin Park brand stand area, the festival is scheduled to run from 11:00 am until around 11:00pm that day. ParksFest is an environment for young and old alike with music as activities that spill over into the rest of the park.

The early portion of the day is geared to be family friendly with games for children and more family friendly activities. Adult friendly activities will take place later in the day, including having a beer garden, but the music is described as intentionally non-genre specific so that the event appeals to everyone.

The event will also have an area where businesses and local artists will have booths to sell items as well as food vendors selling food and area non-profits distributing information about their organizations. Applications to become a vendor are available online. This year’s musical tentative line-up includes:

  • Gentleman and Scholars
  • 23 String Band, Osiella
  • The HoneyVines
  • Troy Miller
  • Rigdon and the Hi-Rize Hillbillies
  • Honey Roy Band
  • Factor Primo
  • Flatheads
  • Art the Dude
