In 1965 George Barris bought a 1955 Lincoln Futura for one dollar. He just auctioned it off for $4.6 million. Now that is definitely what I call a profit.

Now after the initial $1 purchase he did put a whopping $15,000 into it.  The car then became the first batmobile used in the 1960's TV series 'Batman'.   The winning bid at the Barrett-Jackson auction house in Scottsdale, AZ, went to car collector Rick Champagne.  When asked what Rick was going to do with the iconic car, his response was "I'm going to tear down a wall and put it in my living room."  Good place for it Rick! I personally think it would be cool to see it in a museum somewhere but hey Rick, you do yo thang!

For those of you wondering how the Batmobile stacked up in car buying history, it actually tied the Aston Martin DB5 Sean Connery drove in ‘Goldfinger’ for the most expensive car ever sold.

Check out a video below of the car!
