There's good news for Tri-State commuters whose daily route includes a trip across the Twin Bridges as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announces survey work on the bridges has been completed eight days ahead of schedule.

The original plan called for the surveyor to set up lane restrictions on the southbound bridge into Henderson this week and the northbound bridge into Evansville next week as work was done to prepare the bridge for the installation of solar powered navigation lights.

The cabinet also said no other lane restrictions are planned for either bridge until work begins to actually install the navigation lights on February 1st.

2017 will likely be a major headache for drivers who use the bridges everyday as the Indiana Department of Transportation announced earlier this year the entire stretch of Highway 41 from I-69 to the bridges will undergo a $25 million renovation project they're calling "Fix for 41."
