Chick-Fil-A has plans to open a new store on Evansville's West Side but there may already be an issue with PARKING! The Chicken chain wants to lay claim to the old Burger King building on the West Side right off the Lloyd Expressway but a city requirement calling for a 'landscaped parking lot island' is slowing down production.

Chick-Fil-A has filed for a code variance that would eliminate this island requirement claiming that they could increase the amount of parking currently available at the location. The restaurant chain has 4 locations in Evansville including a limited service sales site downtown on Main Street.

Chick-Fil-A was also one the the sponsors of the American Red Cross' Donorama blood drive that was recently held in Eastland Mall. The offered donors (and Jocks) coupons for free Chicken Sandwiches and Tenders as appreciation for their donations!
