It's not uncommon for Amazon to roll out some crazy idea, but it is uncommon for Amazon ideas to really work/catch on, remember Amazon drone?  Whatever happened to that? Anyways the new Amazon Dash has been rolled out  and the more I think about it, the more I realize it might actually be useful.

Tomorrow is April fools, so this could just be a prank, but it isn't too far fetched, and the more I think about it, I could actually see this being useful.  How many times have you forgotten to buy razors, toilet paper, and shampoo when you went to the store?  For me it's like all the time.

Now this isn't instant, but you push your button when you realize you're running low, and in 2 days the product is on your porch, I could see it being pretty convenient!

I'll let the commercial do the talking, here's what the Dash is:

Now what if you have kids and they push the button 10-million times?  No worries, it only orders once!

I was thinking, I could really use this! Now there are the practical things this would be useful for, like razors, toilet paper, dish soap etc... But here's 5 items I could use an Amazon Dash button for

  1. Protein- I am working hard to get healthy and that means I go to the gym quite a bit, and that gigantic tub of protein runs out way quicker than you would expect (especially because someone who won't be named *cough* SAM likes to use my protein when he gets home from the gym..)
  2. Chapstick- I don't even have my life together, and you expect me to be able to use up a full tube of chapstick before it runs out?  Riiiiiiiiiiiight. I'd hit that button all the time.
  3. Eyeliner-It's even a running joke around here when I don't wear eyeliner, you know I either don't feel well or I was running late.  Eyeliner is my best friend.
  4. Dog food-Nothing is worse than realizing "ah crap I have one scoop of food left," because then I have to immediately go to the store, but with the button I could just be like oh I'm running low, no worries Wrigley!
  5. Socks-They always go missing. I just bought a brand new 3-pack of these very nice Adidas no-show socks, and after doing laundry I have only 4 Adidas socks. Not 4 pairs, just 4 separate socks.  I bought a pack that had 3 pairs...So I'm missing 2 socks.  Of course I have the mate to each of the missing socks, because actually having 2 matching socks would just be asking too much.
