My Life Has No Meaning Because Duck Dynasty Has Been Canceled

Today, I learned that after 11 seasons, A&E's Duck Dynasty has come to an end. What will I do with my life now?

In 2012, we as PROUD American's were introduced to the Robertson family: Heirs to the Duck Commander duck-calling fortune. They were just like me and you! Except with a whole bunch of money! And beards! They also had good, wholesome values that weren't ever forced down the throats of viewers for the sake of appealing to a certain demographic.

For over 100 episodes, we were along for the ride as we watched the family ride 4-wheelers, play football, and watch a grown man talk about Sweet Tea as if it were the best beverage to exist. Granted, sweet tea is pretty great. We watched the Robertson's continue to grow their business, despite not ever showing them actually working. From what I saw, the entire production of the Duck Commander took place in one garage where someone was always asleep on the job because WACKY!

At the height of Duck Dynasty's popularity, you couldn't go anywhere without seeing their bearded faces: t-shirts. mugs, hats, probably guns. And it took us back to a simpler time when you could bond with your family over killing ducks. It was truly a golden era.

Phil Robertson was one of the more beloved characters on the show. Sure, he may have some horribly offensive opinions on homosexuals that got him suspended from the show and got Duck Dynasty merchandise pulled from the friggin' Cracker Barrel, but hey, it's wholesome entertainment because we all love watching rednecks do redneck things.

I just don't know what I'm going to do now that I can't tune into elaborate hijinx and scenarios clearly manufactured for laughs. It's truly upsetting to know that after 100+ episodes, I can't watch Willie Robertson be overprotective of his grown daughter Sadie. She wants to go to a dance and Willie has his gun ready for her date! HILARIOUS!

What will I watch with my family now? Does the cancellation of Duck Dynasty mean that the dirty heathens win? Do the ducks win? And how will they wrap the series up? So many unanswered questions! Duck Dynasty was the water-cooler show of a generation. I just hope the show answers the big questions that viewers have had since episode one: Why anyone was watching this lowest-common denominator garbage water to begin with.
