Mesker Park Zoo ‘Dash for Donna’ 5K Scheduled for August 31st

Take run and help Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic raise money for a new children's play area and memorial to Donna the Hippo.

The annual Dash for Donna 5K Run / Walk is coming up on Saturday, August 31st at 8:00am , and will feature challenges for runners of all skill levels as it winds its way through the Zoo grounds. A one mile family fun walk will also be available for those who may not be able to handle the full 5K.

Family friendly activities will take place at the Zoo's Entrance at the conclusion of the race, and awards will be given to top placings in running and walking.

Registration is going on now through the Mesker Park Zoo website. Sign up for the 5K by Monday, August 19th and receive a free t-shirt. Reservations can also be made through the site for Snicker Doodles Art for the kids. For $15, your child will get an 11 X 14 Hippo painting to paint and take home. However limited space is available.

The site also allows those who can't or don't want to participate the opportunity to donate to the cause, or purchase a Dash for Donna shirt.
