If you've been wondering what the current state of the Mesker Park Amphitheater is, you can go see for yourself! This week, the city has opened up the park as a way for citizens to get an up-close look of the current state of the venue so that they can vote on what to do with the space.

Jon Webb, of the Evansville Courier and Press, went on one of the self-guided tours yesterday. According the Jon, it seems that it would be in the best interest of the city to renovate as a way to attract acts that younger people want to see. He also describes the state that venue currently stands. As someone who has fond memories of that dingy, outdoor stadium, I get a little sad seeing what it's become.

If you would like to attend any of the remaining tours, tonight's meeting start at 5:30 p.m. with self-guided tours of the venue followed by a discussion in the shelter house at 6 p.m. The meeting for tomorrow starts at 11 a.m., with the tour and a discussion at 11:30 a.m. Get out there, explore, and let Evansville know what you want done with the venue!
