Ah, Christmas, my favorite time of year. Of course, anyone who knows me could tell you that. Christmas is truly a magic time of year, instilling hope and love in the ones who let it in. It’s also a feeling I believe you should carry all year long. I do my best to keep it in my heart. I know not everyone views Christmas the same as I do, but that doesn’t stop me from sharing the love in my heart with my family and anyone with which I come into contact. If you celebrate The Festival of Lights Hanukkah, The Feast and Celebration of Family Kwanzaa, or even if you celebrate by waiting for the old fat man to come down your chimney, you have something to share with loved ones. I am aware that others maybe having difficulties time this year. Crowds, time, and lack of funds have you counting your woes and infringing on your enjoyment? Let me see if I can help you get out of that funk and into the spirit with my top five activities for the holiday season.
5. Shopping - Yes, I know this goes against the true spirit of Christmas in many eyes, but even at Jesus’ birth, gifts were brought. I love to shop for loved ones and look at it as a challenge. Who can I surprise, and what can I find that that either describes how I see that person or will create a magical moment?  It’s not about spending a lot of money; just spending the time to find what’s right.

4. Decorating - The initial 'get the season started project.'  Pulling out and putting up all Christmas decorations just gears me up for the season and puts me in a great mood. I do it too early for most people, but that’s who I am.  I put mine up November 1st ever year.  It’s too much work to enjoy for such a short time!

3. Admiring Others' Décor – There is something to be said for an evening drive to go around and see what others display for Christmas. It doesn't matter if it is a little or a lot, I can find the magic in each display. The warm glow lighting up the night can make all your cares go away, if only for a moment.

2. Cooking - Or baking. I love making fudge, candies, or cooking for the family and friends who share their time with me.  Cooking is therapy for me.  It keeps my mind focused. So, to add the reason of the season to my cooking makes it that much more special to me. I can fill the bellies of loved ones with sweets or salty treats.

1. Music – Listening to it, singing it - Christmas music fills me with a feeling that is hard to put into words. Everything listed above and all other Christmas activities are simply better with that magical sound filling up your background!
