It's October, and with October means Halloween! My personal favorite holiday! So to celebrate to colder weather moving in, and spooky times here's some of my favorite movies that are family friendly (well most of them are....)

5) Rocky Horror Picture Show

No Halloween is complete without this classic. When a newly engaged couple get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, they get thrown into the hands of Dr. Frank-n-Furter, who happens to be a sweet transvestite from Transylvania. The things that unravel around Brad and Janet it get's pretty crazy. If you like good music, and weird story lines, you'll love RHPS

4) BeetleJuice

I'm a big Tim Burton fan anyways, so when you add in the craziness of Beetlejuice (played by the amazing Michael Keaton) you can't go wrong. It's hilarious, weird, paranormal, and just all around awesome.

3) The Lost Boys

I'm in love with the 80's and this is a movie from the 80's about vampires. I mean that's pretty much a winning combination. The vampires look like they should be straight out of a hair band music video (I'm a sucker for 80's hair metal, I'll be honest!). It's about a mom and her two sons shortly after a divorce moving to a new town, one of the boys falls for a girl, and consequently trying to impress her, he falls into the local bad guys group, and they happen to be vampires. It has funny parts, scary parts, and suspenseful parts, it's just an all around good movie.

2) Ghostbusters

Who ya gonna call? When three scientists lose their job at a university, they decide to start studying the paranormal and create their own paranormal removal service and things get crazy! Ghostbusters is a classic.

1) Hocus Pocus

Who doesn't remember watching this on Disney growing up? It's definitely one of my favorites. It takes place in Salem Massachusetts, and after 300 years the Sanderson sisters (three witches) are resurrected on Halloween night to steal the souls of children so they can stay young forever. It's up to two teenagers, a young girl and an immortal cat to stop the Sanderson sisters once and for all.

So there you have it, my top 5 Halloween movies, I can never make these lists without thinking of others I love, so a few honorable mentions are Zombieland, Shaun of the Dead, Secret Window, and Corpse Bride.

What's your favorite Halloween movies??
