It's getting to be that time of year again, and I'm SO excited about this years Rocky Horror Picture show!! I go every year, and last year was the first time that I actually dressed up.  If you have never gone, or even seen Rocky Horror, I highly suggest you get some friends and check it out! It's such a good time! Details on RHPS and pictures of my costume are inside!Mark your calenders!!

WHEN: September 28, 2012 at 11pm

WHAT:Rocky Horror Picture Show!

WHERE: The Centre Exhibit Hall in Evansville

BE THERE!

WHY: Because it's awesome, that's why!!

Tickets are $6 in advance, $8 day-of-show, can be purchased at the The Centre Box Office in advance or through Ticketmaster.

Also you'll want to think of purchasing at ‘survival kit’ containing birdseed, newspaper, water pistols, rubber gloves, confetti, toilet paper, toast and playing cards for $4.00 in advance, $5.00 night of show while supplies last!  You'll thank me later! Also every year they have a costume contest, I've never entered it but I did make a costume for fun last year (which I will be rockin' again this year!) But if you want to get a costume and dress up for fun the categories are: Fishnet King and Queen, We Ain’t in Kansas Anymore, Hottest Thing Since Fire, Most Likely To Be Mistaken For a Transvestite!

So those are pretty much the details on the show, it's always a lot of fun.  I do have some tips though.  You'll want to learn to 'Time Warp' (It's pretty simple, just a jump to the left, then a step to the right, put your hands on your hips, bend your knees in tight, then do the pelvic thrust).   You'll also want to preload your squirt gun with water.  It's always awkward when your squirt gun won't fire during the rain scene.   And remember, dressing up is OPTIONAL.  If you don't dress up it's no big deal at all, just if you do dress up and decide on heels remember you will be dancing so make sure they aren't too uncomfortable.

Now that we have that covered, let's get to the fun part....dressing up!

Hey I'm a girl, I enjoy dressing up, I also enjoy making things so, BAM — best of both worlds! I decided last year that I would be Eddie from Rocky Horror  I really like the whole 50's style, and I LOVE anything leather (seriously, I have like 10 leather jackets one of which is a Kat Mykals original!), so this costume was the best of both worlds.

Here's a picture from the back of his jacket (you can't really see it, but it says "BABY" at the top):

And a pic of the back of mine! It started as a coat that I cut the sleeves off, hot glued some cheetah print, and studs, and then using paint I painted on the "BABY" and the sun.  So needless to say I was pretty proud!
