Okay so I get quotes and things people post, they use them to be inspiring.  But sometimes a quote that is inspiring to a lot of people, can make you look at your own life and think...uhhh well that doesn't make me feel good. By these standards my biggest strength is being stronger than a lawn chair.  Wait...what?!

I saw this quote on Instagram, it had a picture of a gorgeous lion on the background, and the lion clearly has some scars on his poor little lion nose.  Anyways the quote of the picture said

"Never be ashamed of a  scar.  It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you."

Beautiful, right?  Yeah totally...EXCEPT for the fact that according to this I am very strong.  SO strong in fact that I can officially say I'm stronger than a lawn chair, and a Cocker Spaniel.

I only have 2 scars that I can think of off the top of my head, one is on my nose (It's teeny barely noticeable) from where I one time was bit by my cousin's Cocker Spaniel.  It wasn't her fault, I think I was like 3, apparently I thought it would be fun to screw with her food bowl.  CHOMP.  Luckily Bo and I ended up growing up to be good friends, she was a good dog, and I don't even remember it happening so there are zero hard feelings.

The second scar is a HUGE scar on my left thigh.  Just low enough though that you can see it when I wear shorts and it never fails someone ALWAYS asks "hey what'd you do to your leg?"  Good thing it was nothing emotionally scarring too, geeze!

But when I read the quote above I INSTANTLY thought of my leg.  I hate the scar on my leg, mainly because it's a big ugly scar, and it looks dumb, but not even just that, it's also because I don't even have some cool story to go with it.  I've thought about lying and telling people it was a shark bite, but it's not.  It did happen at the beach though.

I was at the beach 2 years ago with family, having a great time, we were out on the beach one day and we had taken lawn chairs with us (the fold up kind that you can slip into a bag that are like a canvas kinda material).  Some of the chairs (mainly mine) were rusted due to being down to the beach and back so many times, and in the salty air.  After sitting in the chair for a few hours on the beach I went to get up, when I did the fabric ripped and I basically fell through the chair, and everyone laughed at me. Until they realized ther was a really nice big ole blunt rusty screw sticking out of the leg of the chair and RIP right up my leg.  Beautiful.

I should have gone to the ER to get stitches (also I had a Tetanus shot for school, so I was good there too), but I was on vacation and I wasn't spending my precious beachin' time at the ER, we cleaned it up, bandaged it and were good to go.

So there you have it, judging by this quotes standards I am stronger than a lawn chair and a cocker spaniel...such strength.  haha

It's pretty gross wanna see?  Duh, yes you do. I show you what it looked like right after we cleaned it.  haha ew
