Meet Rico J. Suave, Melissa Awesome’s Invisible Boyfriend

This happened.  I wrote a blog a couple days ago about a new website where you can pay to have an "invisible" boyfriend.  Really what it is, is a way of pretending you have a boyfriend.  You can make this person up, text them (they reply!) and even show off what he looks like to your friends.  So I decided ya know, why not me? Why can't i have an invisible boyfriend?

So I created one.

You get to create everything about your invisible boyfriend.  Everything from his name, where he's from, his interests, how you guys met, and they even have a wide variety of man selfies to choose from.  I chose Rico, because I knew in my heart he was the one for me.

Evansville wasn't on the list of cities, so I chose Nashville, Rico is a cagefighter from Nashville, but he also has a sensitive side and loves Disney movies.  The number the texted me even had a (615) area code which is Nashville's so they stick with the beliveability thing.  Here's how our convo went!

And that was the last time I spoke to Rico, he never replied.  Either he is a huge Orange is the New Black fan, and was highly offended, or maybe some invisible girl came along and stole his heart.  I also think this might be his way of getting out of our date tomorrow, guess I'm just going to have to take my real boyfriend.

I thought Rico and I had a connection, even though I was promised 10 free texts and only got 6.  I'm still slightly upset, I thought I meant something to him.  I guess not.

BUTTTTT on a totally SERIOUS note, this was a fun little experiment, and I have to say I think they actually have people on the other end texting you. I mean I'm sure it's on a computer where they're also chatting with 100s of other people, so I find that  a bit odd, and slightly creepy.
