Mater Dei Girls Basketball Team Wins State Championship

(Courtesy, Facebook)

It’s a proud day for Mater Dei grads like myself as the girls basketball team have won the state title!

In a game held earlier today at the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, the Lady Wildcats were able to hold of Ft. Wayne Bishop Luers in overtime to bring home their first state title in girls basketball.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports the Wildcats were led by sophmore Ashlynn Spahn with 15 points while sophmore Maura Muensterman had 14 including the final 4 points that put Mater Dei on top for good by the score of 56-52.

Great job ladies!
