Marines In Afghanistan Perform ‘Call Me Maybe’

Today has been a tragic day for America, in the midst of the Aurora Colorado shooting, and my heart goes out to all those who were effected by it.  However with all the sadness going on today, sometimes a little gem like this can make you smile.  I know the ‘Call Me Maybe’ Covers can get old, however this one is sure to put a smile on your face.I found an article on Yahoo about this video which you can read here. According to the article they spoke with Eric Raum who works for the United Service Organization, and helped produce the video, and he explains how the video came about:

“A few weeks ago, a friend of mine here in Afghanistan, Randy Moresi, approached me about the song ‘Call Me Maybe’. I had just returned to Kandahar from the U.S. and had been taken back by how big of a hit it was, as we often miss out on the latest and greatest while in the ‘Stan and I hadn’t heard it before. She said that people were creating covers of the song, and that it would be a lot of fun for the guys and gals out here if we could create a military version. With a day off looming, we got to work trying to get things organized.”

I hope this brightens up your day as it did mine!
