A couple weeks back, I was faced with the harsh reality of pregnancy.

If you didn't read my previous blog, you should know that about a month ago I noticed stretch marks spanning across my lower stomach as a result of my pregnancy. This was especially hard to cope with, but I have learned that it's just part of the beautiful process of growing a human. I was a little taken back at first, because I had been using Cocoa Butter religiously since finding out I was pregnant. I thought I had been taking all the right steps to prevent stretch marks, but turns out there's no such thing.

At my last doctor appointment, I asked my OBGYN if there was anything I could do to help prevent more stretch marks from popping up. Her exact words were, "There's a reason all the products out there say 'help diminish the appearance of' and not 'prevent'. There's really no preventing them. It's mainly genetic."

So, I stopped focusing my energy on preventing them from popping up and starting looking into products that would help them fade. After some hefty research, I came across a brand called Body Merry.

Body Merry had several different skin care products to choose from, but my attention went directly to the Stretch Marks and Scars combo. I found the cream and oil combo Amazon for around $50. Both products had good reviews, so I went ahead and forked out the cash.

I'm not a huge body oil person, but if it meant taming my stretch marks, I'd suffer through it. Oil makes me feel greasy and gross, but this kind actually wasn't too bad. It blends into your skin well. Amazon suggested using the oil first, followed by the cream, so that's what I've been doing. The cream on top of the oil also helps tone down the greasiness of it.

While I'm not a big fan of oil-based products, the cream is Godsent. I'm not kidding. I feel like my skin started smiling when I put it on. It's super light and creamy feeling, not to mention it cools down my tight belly when I apply it. I knew right away that I had made a good decision.

I've been using both products together 1-2 times a day for the last three weeks. I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like I'm already seeing results. While it's tough to see under my belly, the stretch marks on my boobs have seemed to fade in color. I've noticed the marks have went from purple in color to more of a flesh color - a small step in the right direction! I'm eager to see what happens in the next 3 weeks. Stay tuned!
