With the news of Charlie Sheen making headlines, The Rob & Kat Mykals thought it was a good opportunity to open up a dialogue about HIV in the Tristate. HIV Activist, Wally Paynter stopped by to talk about prevention and testing along with the impact it has on the Tristate.

On Tuesday, Charlie Sheen revealed that he is HIV positive and has been since 2011. We thought this was a good chance to discuss the impact of the virus here, in our own community. We welcomed Wally Paynter, HIV Activist, into the studio on behalf of the Tri-State Alliance. He was able to offer suggestions on testing and prevention, insight on resources available and some statistics from the CDC on HIV.

Wally also talked about the Tri-state's AIDS Holiday Project. If you'd like to learn more and find out how you can help, visit the Facebook page. The project helps to provide holiday needs to nearly 400 low-income families impacted by HIV and AIDS in 36 counties in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
