Erik Hurt is set to debut his new film Martingale at Showplace Cinemas East on Wednesday night. Who says cool things don't happen here?

According to the official synopsis, Martingale is the story of a down and out gambler who must find a way to collect $30,000 to pay back the gangsters out for his life. The film was shot locally in and around Evansville

The films stars USI professor and local theatre director, Jim Hunter, and currently touring actress, Emily Durcholz. The cast also features several other members of the local acting community. Erik Hurt (The Devil's Gold) served as writer and director on the project, while Jeremy Graham and Zach Gint provided sound and music.

The film we be playing at Showplace East on the evening of Wednesday, August 24th at 7:30pm. The film is rated R.
