When you are featured on the Bob & Tom show, you know you've it it big in comedy! One of Evansville's own will be doing that on Monday morning.

Rachael Goldman, a stand up comedian who got her start right here in Evansville at local  hotspot, Bokeh Lounge, has been touring the Midwest.

You might recognize the Goldman name - Rachael's family owns Goldman's Pawn Shop on SE 4th St. in Evansville. Rachael grew up in the pawn shop playing with the various pieces the business acquired.

If you want to hear the Evansville native on the nationally syndicated comedy show, tune in to Bob and Tom between 6-9 a.m. on 103.1 on Monday, Aug 22, 2016.

I caught up with Rachael to chat with her about her nationally syndicated radio debut:

So, how did you get into comedy?

Mike Millard, owner of the Bokeh Lounge, asked me to host the bar's comedy open mic. I said no. Then, he bought me a few drinks and stand-up started to seem like a GREAT idea. That's actually basically how my last relationship started too. Anyway, I've been doing stand-up ever since. That was about two and a half years ago.

What can one expect if they go to your show?

Funny. Always.

There are different kinds of comedy shows, but the one I run in Evansville usually features two comedians from out of town and a local comedian or two dropping in for a quick guest spot. I host. Everyone has a good time.

Will you be performing locally anytime soon?

I'll be in Evansville, this coming Thursday, at the Bokeh Lounge at 8:30pm. Then, I'm headed to Cincinnati, OH, for their Brew Ha Ha that Friday and Saturday. If you want to catch a great show at a great comedy club, I'll be in Louisville, KY at the Laughing Derby with Andy Woodhull 9/1-9/3!
