Listen to Lil Wayne and Junior Reid’s Collaboration “RappaPomPom”

StreetRunner and Lil Wayne have made some dope collaborations over the years. On Thursday (May 26) the producer comes bearing gifts. He revived the Junior Reid collaboration "RappaPomPom" in fully mastered CDQ and you can hear it above.

Weezy flexes his versatility yet again on the reggae-inspired head-nodder. Adopting an occasional Jamaican accent, Tunechi flashes back into his "Lucifer" Remix days. "We play with AK's boy you need to bring that mac back/Hand gun, me no want no hand gun/Tote a shotty with a bass drum/Say somethin I'm from where them niggas can't come/We die rich & young/We die handsome and/Me I never ran from another man son," he spits over sirens and strategically placed gun shots. Junior Reid adds to the vibe with his raspy sing-songy bars (signal the horns).

The track is one of the Miami producer and Weezy's older projects. "'RappaPomPom' was recorded early 2006," StreetRunner explained in a statement. "I passed Wayne a beat CD at the studio and 15 minutes later [I] got the call to hold this track down. Wayne recorded this song and another off the same CD in less then two hours. At that point I knew he was going to be a beast!"

"RappaPomPom" is definitely fire and will hopefully keep fans at ease until the long-awaited Carter V release. It doesn't seem like the fifth installment of the Carter series is close to becoming a reality as reports have surfaced that Baby and Wayne still have yet to reach an agreement regarding Wayne's $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money.
