HollywoodNews.com reports that Lifetime television network is looking to bring Mother Monster's life story to the small screen with a made for TV movie that chronicles the singers life and her rise to fame.

Lifetime recently put out a casting call looking for an actress to play Stefani Germanotta (Lady Gaga's real name).  The casting call goes on to say,

We are seeking an actress who can physically resemble Lady GAGA (see photo) and who can believably span ages 16 to 22. Singing is preferred but not required.

Singing is preferred but not required? I don't know how Hollywood works, but wouldn't you think that singing would be the most important part of the role? I guess they'll just plan on lip-syncing everything if necessary. That's assuming they ever film it. The movie hasn't officially been given the green light, but Lifetime has moved forward with casting anyway.

The script has been written under the title "Fame Monster" and was based on the book "Poker Face" by author Maureen Callahan. According to sources, the film will chronicle Gaga's upbringing in New York City's Upper West Side to her feeling that she never "fit in" in high school, as well as how she dropped out of New York University and moved to New York's Lower East Side which apparently is a section of New York City known for being home to wannabe artists.
