Facebook announced yesterday that the Timeline feature they unveiled back in September is now active worldwide and I have a feeling there will be some people wishing they would bring back the "dislike" button.

But before you automatically go into full on hater mode, you should, at the very least, know what Timeline has to offer. Yes, you're profile will look different. Your once small profile picture will be replaced by a photo of your choosing that stretches across the top of your entire profile. Timeline will also show all the status updates you've posted since you joined the site which could provide a nice trip down memory lane to see where you were in your life 3 months, 6 months, or even a year ago. Want to remind yourself of how excited you were when you kid was born when they're getting on your very last nerve? Now you can.

Another nice thing about Timeline is that everything is customizable. See an old status update verbally abusing your ex the day he broke things off because he felt that "things just weren't working out"? You can remove it from public view. Have an old party picture showcasing your beer bonging talents that you don't want your boss to see? That can be removed as well.

To turn on the new feature, visit Facebook's Timeline page and click the green "Get Timeline" button at the bottom of the page. Once you've done that, Facebook gives you seven days to go through your profile and decide what you want to keep and what you don't. After the seven day window passes, Facebook will automatically activate the feature to your profile however, users will have the option of activating it manually before the seven days expire if their happy with what they see.
