Last week, a baby boy was born in an India hospital without a nose and only one eye located in the center of his forehead, according to AOL News.

The baby was born via cesarean section and only survived for one day due to a condition called hydrocephalus, or water collecting in the brain.

The hospital's professor of gynecology told reporters that the child likely "suffered from cyclopia," a rare birth defect that occurs when an embryonic cell fails to divide the eye organ into two cavities.

The mother, 34-year-old Veena Chavan, has an 8-year-old daughter. She knew about the condition affecting the fetus' brain, but was unaware he had one eye and no nose until after giving birth.
