Kat’s Dancing With Our Stars Evansville Syle – Dance Training: Week 1

I will be participating in my first ever charity dance competition to raise money for St. Vincent Center for Children and Families in June, and I have officially started rehearsing! Plus, you can cast your vote for me now!

St. Vincent Center for Children and Families is a local non-profit that provides quality, affordable child care for families in the Tri-state.They currently serve over 160 children and their families. Seventy-five percent of those families are low income.  St. Vincent is hosting their annual Dancing with Our Stars, Evansville Style competition on June 13th, and it will consist of local celebrities and community members partnered with local dance professionals to raise funds and compete for the mirror ball trophy. I have been partnered with dance pro, Blake Grant, a hip-hop instructor at D' Alto Studios and we have started working on our routine!

Week One:

We rehearsed for the first time yesterday. After a quick meeting on Monday, Blake & I decided on our song, theme and costuming. Yesterday was the day to get busy learning the routine that Blake has choreographed for us. First of all, it was a ton of fun! Second, I. Am. So. Sore! We practiced for two and half hours yesterday, and only made it about 1 minute into the song with our routine. I can tell you however, that it is going to be awesome, and by June I am going to have some killer legs!
